Taking Governance Forward Web Site Launch
ITGI and ISACA have led an initiative to provide an integrated, high-level overview of enterprise governance. Called Taking Governance Forward (TGF), the initiative examines the complex and layered world of governance, identifies and defines the components of a governance system, and conceptualizes how the many views of governance overlap and interact. The project was completed by a task force of ISACA members led by Patrick Stachtchenko, CISA, CA.
TGF connects all the pieces of the governance maze, including governance frameworks, principles, structures, processes, practices, views, activities, relationships, objections, roles and responsibilities. It also looks at how these components interconnect, and how they fit with management frameworks, principles and structures.
ITGI and ISACA has delivered the results in an interactive web site, presenting the materials in a dynamic manner that allows everyone to contribute to the current market debate on what governance is and how it works. To facilitate and encourage this involvement, community interaction with the diagram, maps and term definitions is supported through discussion forums and wikis.
The TGF team developed the enterprise governance overview as a diagram—Governance on a Page—to illustrate the various components and relationships involved. Supporting descriptions were developed to explain them.
The new Taking Governance Forward web site connects all the pieces of the governance, principles, structures and management frameworks.
