- If ITGI convenes a meeting to discuss industry trends and issues, and the affiliate wishes to send a representative, that attendance must be self-funded.
- Each affiliate undoubtedly has access to specific constituencies. ITGI is especially eager to reach executive-level audiences, geographic or industry entities, governments, quasi-governmental and standards bodies, and requests the affiliate's assistance in interacting with those groups.

- Networking with peers at ITGI-sponsored events or in a sponsored virtual forum. If a for-fee program, affiliates receive a discounted registration rate. If not a for-fee program, participation is self-funded.
- Placement of the affiliate's logo on the ITGI web site, providing the affiliate exposure for its leadership in promoting IT governance concepts
